For most people deciding what they want to do is the most difficult part. However,…
Welcome to Sundays with Swati…
Hello people! I am Swati Omprakash Mishra. Born and brought up in Delhi, I have been only to North India. In fact, my parents being so reserved, they never allowed us to go outside Delhi with friends or relatives. I completed my studies from Kendriya Vidyalaya, one of the best educational institutions in India. Further, I graduated in Engineering from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi.
It would not be an understatement if I say, I wasted my engineering degree and jumped into writing career choosing it professionally and personally. I do the job of an editor in a firm and continue to write my books. My reading involves a lot of light-hearted fiction stories. I have tremendous respect for authors and to-be-authors across the world.
I don’t exactly know why I chose writing as a career, but there were few incidents of my life, which shaped me a person as a writer. Now, I spend most of my time writing and reading after office hours and after finishing my home chores.
I run my Instagram: @iti.swati with so much passion because it is the only window of my writing to the world. And I want to be recognized as a decent writer of my country who is read and respected by the writers and readers. Though a long way to go, I have just started putting a step after a step in this direction.
Writing is never an easy job, though it looks like one. “Writing is nothing but sitting at a typewriter and bleeding”, as said by Ernest Hemingway. It is one of the most non-glamourous jobs, though certain writers today make a lot of money on their books by doing huge marketing.
Marketing spoils the real talent and also this the new trend of self-publishing which is actually degrading the quality of books. But Authors could not be blamed for this, because traditional publishing takes a lot of time, and still the book acceptance is in uncertainty.
